Deja Vu at the Delta

Steve Hom, known for his exceptional skills on the tour, reminded everyone of his prowess with a remarkable performance at the 2009 Delta Classic, after an otherwise unremarkable year. Despite opening with a triple bogey, Hom quickly gained momentum, recording three bogeys, three pars, and two birdies on the front-9 to finish with a score of 41. He continued his strong play with a birdie on the par-3 11th and pars on 12 and 15, finishing the back-9 with a score of 42. Hom's impressive 8-under par 83 secured him another championship title, adding to his already impressive PGAHT resume. Interestingly, 83 was also the winning score at last year's Delta Classic, a case of déjà vu. Congratulations to Steve Hom, the 2009 Delta Classic Champion!

Meanwhile, Bobby Boyd has been flying under the radar while consistently collecting prize money. Despite starting the year with a performance that would have earned him third place at the GBC, he played as an amateur that day and learned from it. Boyd displayed his skills once again, shooting a remarkable 5-under 103 to secure second place at the Delta Classic. This comes after his second-place finish at The Masters of Hack in June, another case of déjà vu. Boyd's impressive performances are no longer going unnoticed, as the field will now be keeping an eye on him. Congratulations to Bobby Boyd for his exceptional achievements.

Field favorite Jimmy Huang maintained his consistent play, securing a second consecutive 3rd place finish at the tournament with an impressive 89, equivalent to 3-under par. Despite a rocky start, Huang managed to collect birdies on holes 9 and 12, and pars on four other holes (4, 5, 7, and 11). Although he faced challenges on the par-5 13th, his overall performance remained balanced. With a cleaner start and his continued consistency, Huang has a strong chance of claiming his first title. Congratulations to Jimmy Huang on his impressive performance.

Johnny Huang, a two-time champion, displayed his competitive edge once again, finishing in 4th place with a score of 89, equivalent to 2-under par. Johnny has consistently remained in contention in various events, still seeking his third title and a potential clinch of the FedEx Cup. He will enter next month's PGAH Championship as one of the favorites, poised for another strong performance.

Eric Dolojan, who has consistently remained at the top of the PGAHT leaderboards, secured a 5th place finish with a 1-under round of 84. Interestingly, Dolojan achieved a similar score of 1-under par last month at The Memorial, showcasing his steady performance (déjà vu). Dolojan is still chasing his first title and a signature performance, and with his impressive skills, he may achieve it sooner rather than later.

The Susim family made a notable appearance at the tournament, with both Gino and his father Rene joining us on the course. Gino finished at an impressive even par, while Rene posted a respectable score of 104.

Grey Cooper's game showed signs of improvement as he rounded into tournament shape, despite not "whooping" the field as predicted. His 2-over score of 99 indicates that he may be ready for a strong performance in upcoming tournaments. We'll be keeping an eye on Grey Cooper's progress.

On a lighter note, Robert Holmes, who had joked about shooting yet another 110, unsurprisingly scored exactly that (déjà vu).

Once again, it was a fantastic PGAHT event, and we extend our gratitude to Gino for organizing the arrangements and to all the players who participated. The tour continues to be a wonderful way to spend a day each month, and we owe it all to the support and participation of everyone involved. Thank you for being a part of it.
