Susim Wins PGAHT Tour Championsip

The narrow margin between victory and defeat in championship golf was evident in the recent PGAH Championship, where Gino Susim emerged as the winner by a single stroke. Susim's exceptional performance included a birdie on the par-3 6th hole, which proved to be the decisive factor in securing his victory with a score of 8-under par. In addition to this remarkable feat, Susim also achieved three pars and twelve bogeys during the tournament, showcasing his skill and determination on the course. This victory marks Susim's first title, placing him among this year's esteemed tour winners.

During his post-round press conference, Susim's sponsorship deals with Nike, Ping, and Bobby Jones Golf were announced by his camp. In a joint statement, each of his sponsors emphasized that they had signed Susim prior to the PGAH Championship, underscoring their confidence in his abilities as a winner. "We only sponsor winners, and we knew that Gino would continue that tradition. We expect he will add more titles to our respective brands," stated Susim's sponsors.

John Nunes, the reigning Masters of Hack Champion, put up a valiant fight throughout the tournament but fell short in the end. Despite four pars on the back-9, Nunes' chances of victory were hindered by a quad on the par-5 14th hole. However, his sponsors at Nike, Ping, Cobra, and Hawaiian Sun remain optimistic that Nunes will make the necessary adjustments to continue his winning streak and collect more titles.

James Lopez, the Delta Classic Champion, demonstrated his exceptional skills once again, finishing in third place with a remarkable 5-under par 91. This marks Lopez's second consecutive top-3 finish, earning praise from his sponsors at Mizuno, who confidently remarked, "You might as well engrave James' name on next year's FedEx Cup. With our hybrid in his bag, chances are he's always going to be in the top-5 of any tournament he's in." Lopez's consistent performance has justified the confidence placed in him by Mizuno.

Jason Kremin, who faced personal challenges during the tournament, made a commendable effort and secured a fourth-place finish with a competitive score of 4-under par 98. Despite facing seven doubles during the round, Kremin managed to achieve three pars, showcasing his talent and potential for future success. His sponsors at Nike, Prilosec, and Cleveland Golf are confident that Kremin will continue on his current trajectory and achieve further accomplishments in his golf career.

In a commendable display of patience, RJM Esq Golf, Callaway Golf, and Snake Eyes were rewarded as Robert Holmes posted an even par round of 109, tying for 5th place. Despite a penalty for accidentally hitting his brother's ball, Holmes believes his game is improving and sees himself as a contender in future events.

Two-time champion Steve Hom also posted an even par round of 95, tying for 5th place. Hom's performance was largely consistent with six pars, but three consecutive triples at holes 6, 7, and 8 proved to be his undoing. However, given his history of consistency, Hom remains one of the favorites in any event he enters.

Gerald Cabrera finished in 6th place with a one over par round of 97. Cabrera, who won this year's Greater Brentwood Classic, has been diligently re-working his swing according to his sponsors at Cobra and Bridgestone, and they believe he is on track to return to championship form. Another title before the year ends is not out of the question, as a spokesperson from Cobra stated, "we think bookend titles for the 2008 season would be a great thing!"

Mike Hubner finished in 7th place with a four over par round of 112. Although he had a rough start, Hubner showed improvement as his round progressed, finishing the last five holes in 9 over par. With some fine-tuning, Hubner has the potential to put himself in contention.

Eric Alejandro, in his PGAHT debut, shot a six over par 102 with pars on holes 3 and 7 and seven bogeys, finishing in 8th place. While it may have fallen short of his own expectations, Alejandro is a competitive player and will have another opportunity to strive for victory next month.

Tour veteran Wayne Validum also finished at six over par, tying for 8th place. Despite winning the Greater Brentwood Classic in the past, Validum has yet to recapture his previous success. Nevertheless, he remains determined to bounce back in the next event and reignite his competitive edge.

Gabe Peri concluded the tournament with a finish of seven over par, securing 9th place. Despite playing well overall, challenges at holes 6, 8, 15, and 17 made the difference. If Peri can avoid these setbacks in future rounds, he has the potential to contend for higher positions.

Chris Hogan finished in 10th place, posting a round of eight over par (117). Hogan's performance included three bogeys on holes 12, 17, and 18. With additional focus on his putting, Hogan has the opportunity to reduce his bogey and double totals, as he had six doubles and six triples in this round. Great effort by Hogan, and his progress will be closely monitored.

Tony Rago, who secured second place at the Delta Classic previously, experienced a setback with a 9-over par performance, finishing in 11th place. Although Rago showed flashes of brilliance with pars on holes 2 and 6, he struggled on five of the remaining 11 holes. Minimizing the damage on those holes will likely result in higher rankings for Rago in future tournaments. His sponsors at Mark's Paint Shop remain confident in his abilities.

Cisco Bellez had a challenging day, finishing 12-over par and securing twelfth place. This performance was disappointing for Bellez, as he is widely expected to secure a title in the near future, according to experts.

Steve Jacobson, who won his last two starts at Boundary Oak, did not have a triumphant return, settling for a 15-over par finish and securing 13th place in the tournament.

Ralph Holmes struggled to find his rhythm and concluded the tournament with a 19-over par finish, securing 14th place. Holmes intends to work closely with his sponsor, Roland J. Maples Esq. Golf, to regain his form. He believes that with the right driver in his bag (Cleveland), he can complement his fine iron play and putting to improve his performance.

Josh Westaby's return to the tour was not as successful as anticipated, as he did not perform well in this tournament. However, reports of his game during his hiatus have been positive, suggesting that he has the potential to achieve higher rankings in future tournaments. His best game is expected to be brought to the tour soon.

The PGAHT event at Boundary Oak was yet again a tremendous success. The golf course provided a challenging test for the competitors, and the weather was ideal throughout the tournament. With a large and competitive field, we were thrilled to crown a new champion, congratulations to Gino. We also welcomed a new competitor, Ted Saguindel, to the event. Despite some pacing challenges, it was an overall great day of golf.

Special thanks to Eric Alejandro for making all the necessary arrangements, and to James Lopez and Jason Kremin for efficiently handling the post-round scoring. The addition of the computer in the clubhouse was a great touch, and Gerald Cabrera deserves recognition for his contribution. Well done, guys! Thank you once again for your efforts in making the event a success.
