Cabrera Wins the Masters of Hack

In 2007, Gerald Cabrera emerged as the Masters of Hack Champion with an impressive score of 91, showcasing his skill and consistency on a challenging course. Cabrera's strategic approach allowed him to avoid pitfalls and record an impressive 4-pars and 7-bogeys, securing him shares of the front (46) and back (45) nines. As a result, he successfully held off defending champion Wendell Jones, who finished with a score of 95. Cabrera's remarkable achievement was celebrated by his sponsors Bridgestone, King Cobra, and Callaway, who extend their congratulations to him for his well-deserved victory.

In the previous year, Wendell Jones, the 2006 Masters of Hack Champion, displayed great prowess in his title defense. Despite facing challenges on the course, including a dreaded snowman on the 14th hole, Jones showcased his skills and determination, finishing with a score of 95. His performance earned him a share of the front nine (46) and kept him in contention until the end of the round. With his game improving, Jones is expected to be one of the top contenders in the upcoming Memorial event next month.

Joe Meeks also had a notable performance, finishing with a score of 98 and sharing the back nine (45). Meeks' round was highlighted by a rare eagle on the par-5 10th hole, making him the first player in the tour's history to achieve such a feat. His sponsors, including UnderArmor, The Victor Conti Center for Rejuvenation, and the Bill Romonowski Sportsmanship Foundation, expressed their unwavering support for Meeks as he prepares for The Memorial event in his honor, which promises to be a prestigious championship akin to the Masters of Hack.

John Nunes secured a respectable fourth place with a score of 99, despite struggling with his putter throughout the day. Nunes' front-nine score of 48 was only two shots off the lead, reflecting his overall skill and competitiveness. Although Nunes has yet to claim a title this year, his sponsors Nike and Hawaiian Drinks remain confident in his abilities and anticipate a strong performance in the upcoming Memorial event, which will take place in his home region. As a four-time champion, Nunes is expected to be a formidable contender in the pursuit of his unprecedented fifth championship.

Jason Kremin, the birthday boy and GBC Champion, had a disappointing finish in fifth place with a score of 103. Although he had been playing well leading up to Sunday, struggles on and around the greens cost him valuable strokes. In particular, the par-5 10th hole proved challenging for Kremin, who recorded a 9 on that hole. However, his sponsors Cleveland Golf, Heavy Putter, Prilosec, and Nike express confidence in his ability to bounce back at the Memorial event. There has been no confirmation yet on whether private investigators have been dispatched to prevent Kremin from going wine tasting the night before the event, as he did before the Masters of Hack.

Robert Holmes and Rob Pierce tied for sixth place, each posting a score of 104. Pierce, the winner of the 2006 Greater Brentwood Classic, demonstrated his skill with a front-nine score of 46, sharing the lead at the turn. Although he was unable to replicate his success on the back nine, Pierce's performance indicates that he is on track to regain his championship form with more practice. His sponsors, including Bank of America, Sky-Caddie, and his new sponsor Oddessy, express confidence in his return to the leaderboard during the rest of the year.

Robert Holmes, on the other hand, had a disappointing performance with scores of 52 on both the front and back nines, resulting in a total score of 104.
